Wall
The
same masonry group that did our entryway steps (Mark Seegar) has started the
task of replacing the retaining wall that separates us from Westview Manor
Condominiums to the north. =
p>
The old wall had weakened and many of the 8x8 creosoted timbers showed heavy evidence of rot. If there was a big rain or spring frost heave, it would have been in danger of collapsing, possibly injuring someone walking by at the time.

It may look kind of ugly right now but when we are thr= ough, we will be able to plant vegetation in the “inter-boulder” spac= es, giving it a very classy look. The new wall will be . . . timeless, so strong it will never fall down.

The individual granite boulders are incredibly heavy, = most weighing as much as an automobile! The project should be completed by the e= nd of the year, maybe sooner.
A MESSAGE FROM MARY
I trust you all had a great Thanksg=
iving
and enjoyed your family and all the food.&=
nbsp;
I am sorry I missed potluck last Monday, but our youngest son, Donal=
d,
moved to Las Vegas and Lee and I decided to take a quick trip out to see his
new home. So far he is very happy and is very busy getting unpacked and set=
tled
in the house, which will be the “headquarters” for he and his
brother’s photo booth company (www.partybooths.com). He did make a trip home for Thanks=
giving
and will be joining the family soon for a trip to Disney World with the gra=
ndchildren.
On another note, I regret to report, that with the add= ition of Terese in the office, George has decided to take full retirement, so Ter= ese will be working four days a week during the winter and go to three days a w= eek this summer. That does = not mean I will not be around the building, I just will not be limited to Tuesd= ay and Thursday any longer.

Something f=
or
the funny bone
A young boy entered a barber shop and the barber whisp= ered to his customer, “This is the dumbest kid in the world. Watch and I’ll prove it to you.”
The barber put a dollar bill in one hand and two quart= ers in the other, then called the boy over and asked, “Which do you want, son?”
The boy took the quarters and left.
“What did I tell you?” said the barber.
Later the customer saw the young boy coming out of an = ice cream store. “Hey son! = May I ask you a question? Why did you take the quarters instead of the dollar bill?”
The boy licked his cone and replied, “Because th= e day I take the dollar, the game’s over!”
A fisherman was leaving the pier, carrying two lobster= s in a bucket, when the game warden approached him and asked to see his fishing license.
“I didn’t catch these lobsters,” the fisherman said to the warden. “They are my pets. Every day I come down to the water and whistle, and these lobsters j= ump out. Then I take them for a w= alk and return them at the end of the day.”
The warden, not believing him, reminded him that it is illegal to fish without a license.
“If you don’t believe me, then watch,̶= 1; said the fisherman, as he threw the lobsters back into the water.
“Now whistle to your lobsters and show me that t= hey will come out of the water,” said the warden.
Where upon the fisherman looked at the warden and aske= d, “What lobsters?”
