(#121), and Dottie Kline (#311)

Casterlins: We have been married 31 years. I am 64 years old, retired from Northwest Airli= nes since 2005 after 35 years of service. Susan is 56 years old and currently working part time at Hallmark store in Eagan. We have 5 children and 9 grandchildren. In my spare time I build wooden ship models from the Napoleo= nic era. I also do genealogy (work on family trees). Sue is a seamstress in her spare time and enjoys making clothes, especially baby clothes for our grandchildren.
Dawsons: = We have been married for 39 years and have 2 children. Our son James Jr. and daught= er is named Rose. We have one handsome grandson named Ryan (13) from James Jr. James has worked at Greif Inc. in Rosemount for 39 years. Linda worked in customer service until her loss of eyesight. We love football, camping, and= be with family and friends.
Dottie Kline<= /b>: I moved to Country Club Manor on August 23rd this year. I grew up in St. Paul, with a very dysfunctional family so I ran away when I was 14 but was raised= in a wonderful foster home. I was blessed with a son from each of two marriage= s. I attended Northern Lights School of Massage and worked as a therapeutic mass= age therapist for 24 years. Then I expanded my skills to medical massage after attending Kurashova Institute of Medical Massage. So about 60% of my practi= ce was devoted to injury recovery. In December of 2000, I had a stroke and aga= in in January of 2001. I spent 9 months in a nursing home and another 6 months= at Courage Center to learn to walk and take care of myself. I lost my youngest= son in August 2005. The people at the Church of Christ in Inver Grove Heights essentially have become my family now. But I am very happy to be living at Country Club Manor. I look fo= rward to meeting you all.
A Note from George
I
believe most of you know I am a part- time employee now, but still consider=
ed
Property Manager. So if you haven't heard, I work Mondays and Wednesdays. I=
am
usually there from 8 am to 4 pm. This has been working out great for me. I
started doing some projects at home, seeing more of the grandkids, and more
time just to relax. Mary works Tuesdays and Thursdays. As I write this, Mar=
y is
in the process of hiring a lady to work those two days. I had a chance to m=
eet
her and work with her for a couple of hours. She is very much a people pers=
on,
and has great office skills, which would make our job more efficient in the
future. Now on Fridays, Darlene has been taking the phone calls and anything
else that might happen to come up. This also has been working out well. Gre=
at
job Darlene!
Sorry it’s taking so long to get the pool going.= As I write this, Dan is starting to fill it. It was a bad time of the year to ha= ve a breakdown. Most pool businesses were busy closing outdoor pools. Then, we h= ad to change our pool contractor, for numerous reasons. Dan and I will be work= ing together, to keep your pool running and looking good.
The 1955 building and the pool/Clubroom buildings, are looking great now, with the new brown shingles on the side of the building.= The 1945 building is getting new boilers installed. One boiler is up and running and the contractor is in the process of getting the other two on line soon.= Many projects were happening at the same time, so thank all of you for your pati= ence and understanding.
The 1955 building is full once again, and only one apa= rtment in the 1945 building is available, at this time. We have some of the new residents featured in this newsletter, so if you happen to see them around = the building, please introduce yourself and make them feel welcome. We hear rumors of other apartment buildings in the Cities having massive vacancy rates so we thank you all the more for choosing Country Club Manor as your home and not some other place.=
I have to say something about the weather for Septembe= r and October. I believe them two months were our summer. Wish we could have that every year. Now if only the next four months could be kind to us. Should we think spring now? Maybe a little early.

A MESSAGE FROM MARY
At Lee’s encouragement, I have hired another wom= an to handle the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Lee thinks I need more time to go = out to lunch with some of my friends and spend more time with the little boys in o= ur family (my two grandsons . . . and Lee).
Please welcome Terese Huebner and please help make her= feel right at home. She will not be livi= ng in the building but she lives very close by on Charlton and Wentworth with her husband.
I have really enjoyed working with everyone and gettin= g to know each and every one of you. Just because we now have Terese, I will not stop coming to the build= ing. Now maybe I can come to wine on Tuesday nights and spend the whole evening = instead of running between phone calls.
I would like to remind everyone of the Christmas party coming up
on Tuesday, December 9. Cocktail hour will start at 4:30 PM and dinner will be served at 5:30 PM. Remember this is mainly a resident-only event and we will have sign up sheets in the lobby of each building starting on Monday, November 17th. We have to have a final count by M= onday, December 1, so please sign up right away so you don’t forget.
Happy Thanksgiving and enjoy the holiday with your fam= ily and friends. Don’t eat = or drink too much and drive safely. Till next month, God Bless and have a great month!

A woman accompanied her husband when he went to get a haircut. Reading a magazine, = she found a hairstyle she liked for herself, so she asked the receptionist if s= he could take the magazine next-door to make a copy of the photo.
“Leave some ID, either a driver’s license = or a credit card,” the receptionist said.
“But my husband is here getting a haircut,”= ; the woman explained. “Yes I= know,” the receptionist replied, “but I need something you’ll come back for.”
A second-grader came home from school and said to her grandmother, “Grandma, guess what?&n= bsp; We learned how to make babies today.”
The grandmother, more than a little surprised, tried t= o keep her cool. “That’s interesting,” she said, “How do you make babies?”
“It’s simple,” replied the girl. “You just change “y= 221; to “i” and add “es.’”
Do you have something you would like to share with the rest of our little community? Give an= ything you would like to include to George, Terese, or email directly to Lee at LeeSail@aol.com. Examples might be prayers, poems, = jokes, cartoons, recipes, a personal story, someone you think should be honored, a political viewpoint, etc.
Whenever
Lee used a grocery cart in the UG parking area, he noticed how much noise t=
he
little wheels made on the unevenness of the concrete so vowed to make a bet=
ter
one (or at least one with bigger wheels).&=
nbsp;
He may not have succeeded in improving on Target’s version but=
nonetheless,
this is his latest design dropped off last week in the 55 building. Let George, Mary, or Lee know if y=
ou
like them or how they could be made better.
CCM To Get New Boulder Wall
You
may have noticed the old wooden retaining wall mostly out from the 55 build=
ing.
It is bulging badly and is destined for collapse someday. Rather than wait for that to happe=
n,
work will start shortly on a new classy boulder wall. Boulder walls are incredibly stron=
g and,
although, a bit more expensive than Keystone walls, look more natural. We hope to get vegetation to grow =
right
amongst the boulders.
