You Can Chose Your Own Neigbors (Part 1):
Judy & Earl Scott=
have
been friends with Pat Kohout and her late husband for 20 some years. After Judy and Earl came for the CCM to=
ur, she
told Pat (who was also looking), "Oh Pat, I just love it! As long as you're trying to find an apa=
rtment
too, you should just take a look here!"
Pat came for her own personal tour, filled out her application the s=
ame
day, and that led to the happy picture above.
HI! We're Earl & Judy Scott. We moved into apartment #234 in the 55
building. We are now settled in an=
d love
our new home. So many nice people =
have
met us but its hard to remember their names.
This should improve in time.
We have a granddaught=
er and a
great granddaughter, with a great grandson on the way. We are both retired. Judy from the medical field and myself =
from
the communications field. I volunt=
eer
and am active in the chemical health field.
We enjoy spending time with family and friends. We also love playing 500, so if there a=
re any
500 players out there, let us know.
We would like to than=
k Terese
for being so helpful and understanding.
We'll be seeing you all and God Bless!
You Can Chose Your Own Neigbors (Part 2):
Pat Illesley (#125), pictured above with Terese (and a= four legged friend), referred her sister Barb. Barb had visited many times and decided that, if and when a 1 BR ope= ned up again, she would like to be considered for it. Once again, such simple events led to a= nice picture with smiling faces.
So this month, a total of $400 was diverted from CCM's advertising budget and put into the pockets of our own residents!
Choosing your own neighbors is easy! Just give Terese the name and number of someone you think might be looking for a nice apartment. That’s all there is to it. Or you can give the office number (451-= 2633) to your friend (and ask your friend to mention your name early in the conversation). When your friend jo= ins our little community, you will receive $200 as a token of our appreciation = to use towards your rent.
From Terese's Desk
My husband and I will be leaving this weekend to open = up our cabin off Lake Vermillion. Since o= ur son and his new bride will be honeymooning there, we will be getting it setup j= ust right for their enjoyment. My husb= and is very excited to deck out the boat, complete with decorations, as a surprise= for the newlyweds!!
The excitement around the 'CCM Campus' continues! The monumental garage repair in the 45 = & 55 buildings is almost complete. To brighten things up, Lee & Mary are going to paint the garage walls a li= ght color. We estimate 90 gallons of p= aint for each garage! And, of course, s= pring clean-up around the grounds should begin soon as well. Watch the bulletin boards in both lobbi= es for updates, upcoming events and announcements!
Until next month...
Terese
Notes from our “Social Directors”
Many people have one or two items but d=
on’t
have the time or energy to organize an entire garage sale on their own! If they volunteer to help out, they kee=
p 100%
of the proceeds from their contributions; if not, they will still get 60%
without having to buy and plant signs, run ads, set up, take down, etc. We try to set up early, but any time you
would like to come out is fine. The
times will be 8am to 4pm. Stay as =
long
or as little as you want. That's a=
ll for
this month. Take care!
Love, Kevin + Kathy E.
A MESSAGE FROM MARY
I hope you are all en= joying the nice weather. Speaking of whic= h, thanks for helping us conserve on energy by not opening windows before turn= ing your heat off in your apartment. <= o:p>
The boilers will be t=
urned
off soon for the coming warm weather so you may need to control the tempera=
tue
in your apartment by using your windows.
If we have a warm day and you leave your windows open, great. But if the weather is forecast to cool =
off,
you may want to make sure your windows are closed before it starts
cooling down, in order to retain the heat thereby helping us to stay
“green.” And when it is forecast t=
o be
especially warm, you can reverse the process (leaving windows open at night=
) to
save on airconditioning bills.
Happy Mother's day to=
all our
mom's! Can you believe that it is =
May
already? The year is going by so
fast. My parents will be returning=
in
time for Mother's Day this year, so I look forward to spending some time wi=
th
them. I am sure that you will all =
enjoy
your special day.
Our thanks to =
Esther
Ruiz (#113) for donating the exercise bike in the pool area.
I just found out that=
our
former resident Pat Wacher (#201 in the 45 building) has a brain tumor that=
is
not operable. Please remember her =
and
her family in your prayers as this is a very difficult time for all of them=
.
Thanks to all for the
comments of encouragement about the garages.
The last step is to get the walls painted and lighten up the
garage. The 55 building will be do=
ne
first and should be started the first week in May. The painting should be much less “traum=
atic”
and go fast. Thanks for your co- operation with all these improvements. Our apologies to everyone in the 55 bui=
lding
for the problem with front steps. =
They
should be repaired by the time you read this.
Till next month, have=
a great
one and God Bless,
Mary

GOLF EVENT =
AT
SOUTHVIEW COUNTRY CLUB
Each year, we have organized an outing for Country Club Manor residents and=

relatives, or friends to play Southview on ANY (or All!) of the following
dates: June 29, July 13, Aug 17, Aug 24, Aug 31, Sept 14, and/or Sept 28. The cost will be $73 each for green fee=

· Dave Holmen #308 is looking for a patient individual to teach him how to play the piano.

CCM Hosts West St. Paul’s ROMA Meeting.
On April 9, CCM was the proud host for West St. Paul’s ROMA (Responsible Owners and Manag= ers Association) meeting.
THE FUNNY BONE
A little girl was diligently pounding away on her grandfather's word processor. She told him she was writing a story... "What's it about?" he asked.
"I don't know," she replied. "I can't read."
I didn't know if my granddaughter had learned her colo= rs yet, so I decided to test her. I would point out something and ask what col= or it was. She would tell me and was always correct. It was fun for me, so I continued. At last, she headed for the door, saying, "Grandma, I think= you should try to figure out some of these, yourself!"
When my grandson asked me how old I was, I teasingly replied, "I'm not sure." "Look in your underwear, Grandpa,&q= uot; he advised. "Mine says I'm 4 to 6."
A grandfather was delivering his grandchildren to thei= r home one day when a fire truck zoomed past. Sitting in the front seat of the fire truck was a Dalmatian dog. The children started discussing the dog's duties. "They use him to keep crowds back," said one child. "No,&quo= t; said another. "He's just for good luck." A third child brought the argument to a close."They use the dogs," she said firmly, "to find the fire hydrants."

little community? Give anythin=
